Memory optimization and Initializing

I've found that some questions eventually get answered via experimentation and trial and error. Maybe somebody can answer this one to shorten the process!

I have a 1G memory card. It was fairly full, and I downloaded/deleted some songs from the card. I did have a song that had been copied from my PC and imported via MBR, but I erased it as well.

Even with all of that done, I only had an hour of record time remaining? It was a live recording in which I let the MBR record on one track until it was done.

The next day, I went to copy another song from my PC to the MBR. When I went into the Import screen, the song from the previous day seemed to still be stored, waiting to be imported again.

Once the song is imported into the recorder, does the data from the PC remain in memory, even if the song is exported or erased? If so, how are those songs removed from the Import queue? Initialization of the card?

Or am I completely wrong? Haha

are you saying that there is still some mysterious data on your BR?

really all you are doing is copying from one machine to the other so yes, the original will still be there. just backup whatever is left to backup and reformat the card to start fresh.

Thanks. I figured that when I erased a song from the MBR, it was gone. As you said, it's best to get everything off the card and initialize. With 1 Gig available, file management is critical, for sure.
