Farther Away (Evanescence cover)

This is a piano cover I did some time ago of an Evanescence song titled Farther Away. Slowing it down a little to suit my playing/singing style a little better. It wasn't my intention to make this sound like the original but to put my own ideas into the arrangement. I've learned better singing technique since this was recorded, so I apologize for those mistakes, but I wanted to share anyway.

Allyson - I'm listening to this upload through laptop speakers, which are notorious for poor reproduction, but even given these known shortcomings, this particular recording comes across as though it was recorded underwater, which I'm absolutely sure wasn't the way you wished your upload to sound.
And (although I don't know the original), this sounds like a very good song trying to get out!
I can't really advise you on the technical side of things - but there are several Members here on SC who've worked in recording studios etc who perhaps could point you in a direction to fulfill your undoubted promise with some basic recording techniques, because you really do have a robust talent for writing and playing your songs. It would be a shame if they couldn't be reproduced with clarity.

Still haven't heard the original of this song - and I don't care!!
THIS is the version that pops up in my mind regularly.  
Anyhoo, I've tried to tame the dynamics somewhat of AM's upload.
You may have to turn-up the volume.
