Thank you BossMBR, yep that is my harmonica playing, I have a few harmonicas, but I don't play them very often.  It seemed to fit this song in substitute of the original flute part.  Thanks, I should play harmonica more, lots of fun, for sure.  I really paid attention to what I was doing with this one, levels, bouncing, what guitar to use for best sound for what part, it ended up using 19 vtracks and a few bounces.  I learned a bit from this one.  Like I said earlier, it was a labour of love for sure.  Thank you to all who commented.

Very nice job indeed. Great work on playing everything here, including the harp. Well recorded, and you do have a great voice for this kind of material.

Cheers,

Dude I think that is awesome. You made all that by yourself, no backer... I do not know the song, but damn that is musical, it all fits and more importantly it all meshes. Excellent work. Great playing all around.

Wow!

This just blew me away. What a fantastic peice of work. Every comment is justified.

I always did like the sound of a wah!  Great job.  All of it. And you did it all by yourself. Need to hear more singing from you.  And yes originals require lots of work. Thats why I haven't done any. ;)

Quote from: Greeny on March 02, 2009, 04:19:57 AMI don't know the original of this, but when it hit the wah solo it had me thinking 'Hotel California'! You've put this together VERY nicely. The wah is perfect - seriously good tone and playing. And I prefer your harmonica to Ian Anderson's flute, lol. Did you stand on one leg whilst you were playing it though?!  :D

Nice work.

p.s. Oh yeah... 'Up on Cripple Creek' would be a good one! I've done 'Ophelia' before. The Band are hard to cover, but I think you could pull it off.
good stuff-i hear that progression too
The reason this sounds like Hotel California is because the Eagles stole this progression.  They were on tour supporting Jethro Tull during this time and Jethro Tull used to close out the show in fine fashion with this song and a wah solo to end all wah solos.  The Eagles must have liked the sound of this progression so they used in for their next big hit song, Hotel California.  Stole, borrowed, unconsious pilfering, who knows.  Everybody knows Hotel California, hardly anybody knows this great song from Jethro Tull.  That's how it goes.

Wow! I never knew that. The pilfering swine, lol. I love rock trivia - and I'll remember this juicy little nugget. Nice one, Bluesberry. And this is still a great track...!

Wow BB, very good!  Vocals right on, cool wah guitar, & way cool harp!

I agree with Greeny - this reminds me so much of Hotel California...

I enjoyed listening!

I wonder who had this particular chord progression first, the Eagles or Jethro Tull?
            - i guess you answered that question - very interesting history there BB...

Glad this popped up - It's really good! Didn't know the Eagles robbed Tull - And didn't give credit for one of their biggest hits. It would be interesting to see what would happen in today's world - Nowadays you play one note that sounds similar to somebody else and you get sued! Satriani v. Coldplay, Journey v. Foo Fighters. Who's next?

Anyway, great playing and singing!
