Pretty excited on this. I record a lot into Logic using my Pod HD desktop but I am excited on a bit more flexibility with a standalone recorder. I am excited on using the rhythm section to get some song ideas down and make a scratch bass line using the [GT to Bass] patches in the BR800.

If anyone has any really good tutorials on using the Rhythm section to step drum tracks together, I would be very grateful.
OR song writing in general on the BR800.
thanks

Thank you Geir, these will definitely help. I used to chat with Tony when he was on the fdp forum, not seen him online much of late. He explains these recorders very well.

I like the idea of record a song idea to a single drum loop then go back in and use the step sequencer in the BR800 to put the verses and fills in etc.

Should be cool.

on a side note, in the BR800 drum sequences: is there a simple 4 click intro I could use before my drum loop, like a hi hat 1,2,3,4, intro?

I will look later on unit when I get it but thought worth asking ahead of time.

That's the way I usually do it as well.

I usually use the country1 intro . If you just use it for 1 measure, it is just 4 hi-hat "clicks".

If you have trouble understanding the BR-800 manual, I highly recommend the BR-800 tutorial DVD by David Wills of ProAudioDVDs.

Here's an excerpt from it, which happens to be on the Rhythm Editor:

I will probably buy the DVD, thanks for the link. I have a Zoom R24 but it is way too much for me. The BR600 I owned once and I think the BR800 will be better for my creative moments and the recording of cover songs that I do. I was more creative when I had my BR600 and I think though the Zoom R24 is super quality it is a little too much for me with respect to what I do in my home studio.

Hi Guys
Very impressed with the BR800. I was using the Acoustic simulator today and it is pretty darn convincing. I do not own a Electro Acoustic guitar so this is a god-send. I also own the GT100 and a Pod HD desktop and recording into the line inputs is a breeze. I was using the rhythm editor a little and I like the drums on there.

This is nice as my Boss GT100 I do not think has an acoustic simulator and the BR800 is platformed off the GT10, which of course had it. So get best of all worlds.

My DVD from Pro Audio is also on it's way.

Thanks to all of you here also, some great guys and this is a very nicely put together forum.

thanks y'all!
