Eff it was nae for yer wellies, where would you be?
You'd be in the hospital or infirmary
'Cause you would have a dose of the flu or even pleurisy
Eff ye did nae have yer feet in yer wellies!

Oh, wellies, they are wonderful; oh, wellies they are swell
Cos they keep oot the water and they keep in the smell
An' when yer sittin' in a room, you can always tell
When some bugger takes aff his wellies

Eff it was nae for yer wellies, where would you be?
You'd be in the hospital or infirmary
'Cause you would have a dose of the flu or even pleurisy
Eff ye did nae have yer feet in yer wellies!

But when yer oot walkin', in the country way a burd
An' yer strollin' over fields, just like a fairmer's herd
And somebody shouts, "Keep aff the grass!"
An' you think, "How absurd"
An' SQUELCH! ya find why fairmers a' wear wellies

Eff it was nae for yer wellies, where would you be?
You'd be in the hospital or infirmary
'Cause you would have a dose of the flu or even pleurisy
Eff ye did nae have yer feet in yer wellies!

There's fishermen an' firemen, there's farmers an' all
Men oot diggin' ditches and workin' in the snow
This country it would grind tae a halt and no' a thing would grow
If it was nae for the workers in their wellies

Eff it was nae for yer wellies, where would you be?
You'd be in the hospital or infirmary
'Cause you would have a dose of the flu or even pleurisy
Eff ye did nae have yer feet in yer wellies!

Now Edward Heath and Wilson, they have nae made a hit
They're ruinin' this country, mair than just a bit
If they keep on the way they're goin', we'll all be in the shhh__
So ya be'er get yer feet in yer wellies!

Eff it was nae for yer wellies, where would you be?
You'd be in the hospital or infirmary
'Cause you would have a dose of the flu or even pleurisy
Eff ye did nae have yer feet in yer wellies!

Wow!! Very hilarious song!! Brilliant vocals, James! I love that Scottish accent!!
Nice job on guitar 64!! I tried listen to very carefully and find out is your guitar acoustic or electro acoustic? Anyway, it sounds crystal clear!

Fantastic job, both of you!

Thanks, Kari. It's actually a solidbody guitar; my Godin xtSA. Its piezo bridge transducers give a reasonably good acoustic sound which is further enhanced by the BR-864's Acoustic Processor effect. The only real acoustic guitar that I have has a broken neck and is unplayable. Every song I've posted here that sounds like it has an acoustic guitar is actually my Godin xtSA solidbody mimicking an acoustic. It's a very versatile guitar.

Loved it! Never heard the original, but this sounds good and authentic to me. Nicely strummed and well-toned, 64G, and well-enunciated, James. :)
