70sFest (banner image missing)

Well I couldn't let the 70s Fest go by without doing this - I used to sing this to death back as a pre-teen, completely oblivious of the lyrics. Written by Bobby Gosh and made famous by Dr Hook in 1976. Never played it on the geetar before though!

Recorded live, internal mics, 1 track - hopefully it's ok.

Ahahah! Don't worry with that! Between Member Jukeboxes and 70sfest there is "overlooked gems", which is a playlist of songs with few comments. There is always gold in there, just waiting to be dug!

It's great to get feedback but it never bothers me, there are so many talented people on this site and their songs are all much more accomplished than mine! I like it but then I really like the song so my judgement might be a bit coloured :)

Vive la différence!

Don't worry Haily, I once waited a whole week for the comments to start ;D it happens sometimes when the site's quite busy.

Really a wonderful performance, and the recording is incredible. Done with the internal microphones ??? WOW !!!!

Lovely cover Haylie - takes me back to 1976 when I went on an exchange trip to Germany at Easter then the Germans came over in July. We had a lot of parties over there and over here and this reminds me of smooching (very 70s !) with the girls. Nice one !

Nice one Haylie, you don't pick the easy ones do you. I loved the original and it's really good to hear this song again. Well done............Willie

thanks Geir - I'm gonna print that off and stick it on my wall :) - I'd love to rerecord this with the Rode now I've made a bit of progress with it to compare recordings - it's gonna have to wait for a while though.

bit of a player then eh Pete - you'll never guess but my first boyfriend was called PeteC and played the guitar - when I joined the site I checked you out to make sure you weren't one and the same!

I've never been out with a Haylie so it's definitely not me.  But you'll always be in my heart as my first Songcrafters collab ! :-* :-*
