animated gif avatar?

I checked the FAQ and did some searching but can't find anything about how to make an animated gif to work as the avatar?

I'll post it below and see if it works as an attachment. Don't know where I found it but some fun eh?

It worked. I think it's cute. I have 3 dogs & 3 cats. Something like that would be fun.

Not sure why any animated musical gif I've found is of a cat but, hey, beggers can't be choosers.

I did see another member here with an animated gif avatar (tod) so I know it can be used, just not how yet.

I don't know why Tod's works and yours doesn't. However, I have to say that I find animated avatar's very annoying (no offense, Tod). They're funny once, but not every time I read a message topic containing multiple animated avatars.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that animated avatars should not be allowed?

I'd enjoy seeing more of the music-related animated gifs such as those above here in the Off-topic forum, but I don't want to see them as avatars in every forum and topic.
