Wow, a genuinely thrilling climax to both votes.

I know this seems fairly self-explanatory on the face of it, but in the context of Discofest, are we talking about;
a - Disco songs covered in a Disco style
b - Disco songs covered in any style
c - non-Disco songs played in a Disco style, or
d - any / all of the above?

Also, I presume we're talking about Disco as in the mid- to late-seventies styles(US Disco and Euro Disco), but not rave, techno etc?

I know, specialist subject the bleedin' obvious...
Overdrive - Distortion - Hyperactivity

I would say all of the above. Also, you can do an original song in a disco style. It doesn't have to be a cover.

I'm not sure. My own preference would be to stick with the seventies. Most of us probably think of mirrored disco balls, sparkly platform shoes, and sparkly clothes when we hear the word disco. I doubt if many of us think of rave or techno. But, since DiscoFest was Geir's suggestion, I'll let him decide.

wow ... I hope I'll be able to contribute more to the current fests than the last ones (which would be my ultimate combo under normal circumstances ... I mean Beatles !! and Spacefest (also my suggestion)) .... well sometimes life takes a left turn when you're going right ...

to the topic: what I had in mind was indeed mid/late 70s, maybe verging on early 80s. My reason for suggesting it was that it was beginning to get a bit lonely on the throne of disco ;D ;D ;D . When I posted THIS I think it was the first disco tune here on SC, and a good example of my understanding of what disco is, but there may have come a few after that.

But I also think Nick's suggestion is excellent !! So like 64G I say all of the above!

cheers ....... and get your sparkly platform shoes out of the closet ;)
