ummm, i guess the choice of bass is part of it. the sg bass is a damn good one. when i first started bass in 74 i decided to learn all the sabbath songs and other songs to learn scales and styles and then from it came up with my own.
havent' been a bassist since like 91 and was rusty then. my bass has 2 pickups, i leave the front big one, on about 3 on tone, and the little back pickup on about 4. so there is not much high end. once and a while i might pump up the bass tone through eq.
(in this song i think the bass could be a bit louder in the mix, especially since it is carrying the background during your leads).
i always loved being in 3 piece bands, or 3 piece with vocals, cause it made me work harder to have a good background for the guitarist to do leads. i just wish i could do bass as well as i am capable of, but, in time.

yeah, we didnt do the air raid sirens but, i think enough people did that, so it should hold up without it. thanks for the views, errr listens. i believe bruno did an update - remix so it is not the same mix heard when this topic was first put up. after this i think bruno and i should so more sabbath in the coming months, time permitting we could pull off a whole sabbath tribute lp. :P

i think the next one we do will be into the void. will be interesting!

THAT was satisfying... ;D

excellent work you two!

I was one of my favorite songs to play back in the day - but I didn't do it so well!
On the other hand Frank did - bass AND drums (when he could steal the throne for a bit)

Johnny Mac

Blimey this is really good! The drums must have been painful to reproduce but you've done a fine job on them. The guitars and bass sound massive.

It's a my favourite sabbath song. I love the cover Faith No More Did too. It's such a powerful song.
