My wife and I went to the movies this weekend and it inspired this short tune! It's my 1st recording on my, new to me, Zoom ps-02. I thought what better way to learn to use this 3 track device then to write a song with just 3 tracks. It was relatively easy to navigate & record on. There were/are some frustrations, I'll address those in a different post later. I ended up exporting the individual tracks off the card using there wav. converter, similar to 64's but not nearly as nice, and importing them into audacity to do this final mix. I got for $12 a pick-up designed for acoustic instruments to connect with a tuner (signal flex sf20 guitar tuner pick up), it has a suction cup that holds it pretty well and does a good job. It's nice to be able to take advantage of the effects on my uke! The vocal is through the built in mic & I'm pretty impressed with that, much better than the one on my br900 but almost no level adjustment, a negative for every positive.
Regardless here it is 3 tracks 1 rythm uke, 1 lead uke & one vocal.

Rogue baritone uke
Take anything from me that you might need
Cut right through flesh & bone, no worries I don't bleed
I'll be there for you when you are feeling weak
Together we will see the end though the end is rather bleak

I find my strength in my sister's eyes
             I will sacrifice & I will survive

Now we've overcome, 2 now stand for 1
We spilled their blood for sport but never once was it fun
I'm sure some aftershock or roadblock's still ahead
Together we will see then though the end is what I dread

I stand corrected!

here you go ORH

the chord is short and you have to lick the suction cup to get it to stick but it works. Dean Markley makes one also http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=dean+markley+pickups&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=hWs&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=imvnso&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1024&bih=665&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=5601656522075517481&sa=X&ei=10B6T9y8EMfu0gG6haT2Aw&ved=0CGsQ8wIwAA
I think I'll eventually get one of those but this one works for now!
Thanks for listening!

Hell yah hook... this is smashing good. The wife and I finally realized who you sound like sorta... Not in this song of course... Don't shoot me...You have a hint of Everlast (Whitey Ford) in your vox. I think it's more prominent in "The Best Shade"... Personally I think you have a very distinct voice... one that is easily remembere'd... I hear a Hook tune and I know right away who it is... And that's all good in my book!!! Thanks for sharing bro.. stellar tune.

Right on, bro! Love the agressive uke strums and lyrics/vox - You are the Under2Fest master!

Oh, and I think you could totally bust out an Everlast cover!! ;d

j.g.

Your new toy has a fine mic, but your vox are a great starting point anyway. They are a plus attribute on all your recordings.
The pickup works great on your Uke - a bargain.
These two minute songs are right up your street.

WOW !

Great song, and yet another fine example that you don't necessarily need Flash Harry's new toothbrush to make a stellar recording !!!

I'm a big fan of your voice !!
