Hi everyone.

I'm a musician from montreal, can. I've been posting songs online for the last few months. I'm looking to meet new people, get/share some tricks on recording/performing or just get comments on my tracks.

These are my finest videos :   :D Yeah, I'm on a budget

Welcome, slyswell!

For some reason, your first video wouldn't play, but I dig what I heard on the second one - great strummy parts, vocals, and harmonies! Hope to hear more from you.

cheers,

Cool music slyswell !! Please do tell more about what you use for recording and what gear you have. You have a great sound. I like that drumsound. Real drums? Love the simple approach to the videos as well.

Welcome to this little community !!

@ Geir

I use reaper for recording.

concerning the drums : for these 2 songs I used steven slate drums 3.5 ex . I upgraded to v4 since then. i used a combination of a tambourine from kontakt and a tambourine sample that i recorded.

the rythm guitar is a fender 12-string acoustic.

the guitar you hear at he end of Big Boy Part 1 ( i hope you listened to it all lol, the outro is my favorite part on the song) is an ibanez SA connected to a fender blues deluxe. I swaped the original speaker for a Weber ceramic blue dog to make it sound more like a vox ac30. So the speaker is  the main reason for the bell-like tone.

pretty much everything else was made with kontakt, including the bass guitar. I played the part on my ibanez and converted it to midi before putting a bass sound from kontakt over it.

If you any other question , don't hesitate to ask me.

welcome slywell, i once tried reaper but it had more things than audacity, and being a virgin at mixing, pretty much, it was too confusing. im going to try it again, cause im thinking it has to be better than audacity, though it is s nice program. there are just too many bugs for win7. mind if i pick your brain once in a while, cause i like what i see in reaper but lots of things i just dont know about it. many options and tweaks i just dont know what they are other than the obvious ones. im hoping it might make cleaner and better recordings than audacity. also what is the diffference between the free vers. and the pay? can you do as many tracks as you want per song?

slyswell

phantasm777 , i answered your questions in your thread about reaper.
