Earlier tonight I watched the Nirvana concert that BBC4 showed a few weeks back.  It inspired me to come and do this.  It's a straight cover; no tricks, re-writes or rearrangements.

My main strike guitar is in the 'shop at the moment (getting rewired, re-potted and pro-setup), so had a constraint of acoustic and bass.

It's an alonetone linked file, so it may not work first time.

Dilemma.
For me, there's maybe a little angst missing in the vocals ... But no, I'm comparing it too much with the unplugged original. You've put you own stamp on this & I should accept it for what it is.

I like the sound of the acoustic guitar. It's got a haunting quality to it. I'd guess it wasn't close mic'd, as it sounds like it's got air, which I really like.

I do like this version, just gotta get over my own self-imposed hang-ups!!

The guitar was actually DI'd into the Zoom using the on-board pickup (which is why you can hear a bit of mains hum at the start), then a shit-load of reverb applied.  There's a bunch of reverb on everything here.

Sounds great, love the fuzzy bassy acoustic sound, just like the Nirvana unplugged sound.
