Did this a few years ago with Mr Smith on Vox. B goes crazy on the k-oscillator - and a free mini moog download :-)

Man, you got the kitchen sink in this one! One of my faves from them - the (synth?) bass is pounding just like J.J.!

Oh yes ... The Stranglers. Still remember seeing them in 1978.

An interesting take on a truly great song.
I wasn't sure at first, but after I got over my initial reaction of screaming sacrilege (my own stupid revulsion to anyone attempting a favourite song), I quite enjoyed the ride.

Not too sure about the drum mix. Is maybe a little too dry?
Quite liked the vocals though & that mini moog download brought the song alive.

Thinking of getting a Kaossilator myself ... Will have to make it a reality after hearing how it can be put to good use 8)

Stranglers are top-ten all time faves for me, so I had some protective wariness coming into this too.

Needn't have, really enjoyed it.  Mega.  Love those synths and up-tempo-ing.

Cuthert - went back to listen specifically to the bass track - its the fretless bass played through some heavy arse distortion (I couldn't remember).

Sharks - yeah agree, drums are a little to up front - could probably set them back a bit. The idea was to take a song that I love and put it against a bit of a dance beat - didn't quite work out that way in the end - but a real good learning experience. Re the K.O - real good fun, but a little bit of a 1 trick pony, you soon get a little bored of the sounds - does come out occasionally though! NB the KO was used the get the sweep in sound at the start, so very good for those little extra's - and the KO solo in the middle was great fun to play - dial in the key and scale, and where ever you press work - never play the same solo twice though, brilliant.
