Sounds good to me...sounds like a big ol' dreadnought. is it? i liked the leads but thought they could come up in the mix a bit so they are on top on the rhythm guitar. Nice post.

Thanks Pinedog - actually it's a small bodied guitar (Brook Taw) - they are very loud, I love 'em

http://www.brookguitars.com/ - lookup TAW - mine's a six string. Great company!

Wow, uplifting arrangement with a great sound! A little short, but that's what the rewind button is for.

Great stuff!!

Thanks Mark. The reason that these pieces are short is coz I'm experimenting with time box writing (not an official technique, but something I made up). So you start with nothing, a blank piece of paper - and you have the afternoon (or evening) to produce something - normally around 3 hours. You record mistakes and all - normally only 1 or 2 takes. It does force you to move quickly, and actually - pieces always sound quite fresh.

One of these days, I go back and 'finish' the pieces - perhaps add a middle bit, and some variation on dynamics - however that's the technique. Some pieces work, and some don't - but hey, you've only spent 3 hours on it if it doesn't work! You do, however, sometimes end up staring at the screen with a blank look on your face - and then its time for the pub :-)

Back down to Devon on Sunday - pick the guitar up on Monday morning from those expert Luthers at Brook. F@ckin awesome place, guitar heaven. This is the beaut they've made for me from the bits of wood above.

This is the song I wrote in Feb when I went down to Brook for the first time - the road to Brook. At this is out the other end! Apologies - a shameless bump - but this is a significant milestone for me.
