Welcome Zencat,
This sounds amazing!!! The guitar playing is great but what really impressed me was your vocal!! Simply perfect!!
The harmonies are mind blowing, so much talent here!! I can not find anything wrong with the recording as it sounds really perfect to me, of course the only thing is the need to trim the edges but you already got all the info you need.
I learned everything I know about recording from this amazing site and I hope you will enjoy it also.

The Micro BR has a compressor and a limiter in its COSM effects. They're available in the preset vocal effect patches, though you may have to turn them on or adjust their parameters. To reduce some of the peaks, try preset patch MC04:Only Lmt. As the name suggests, it is only a limiter. The Threshold parameter adjusts the amount of limiting. The default value of -3 dB is pretty gentle. If you need more limiting, try setting the threshold to -6 dB or lower (more negative).

QuoteI feel duty bound to point out that the term "young lady" is probably defunct after 40!

To many of us here, 40-ish is young. According to the following poll, half of our members are between 30 and 50, but 31% are over 50 (including me).

By the way, you look younger than 40 in the photos on your SoundCloud page. Are they not very recent?

QuoteI have downloaded Audacity which has been brilliant for editing the songs I have that were in wav format - however, Winds of Change is in mp3 and I had problems trying to convert it back on the MBR. It seemed to work, but when I replayed it it had become garbled about half way through...any suggestions? I suspect it could be to do with the virtual tracks.

Have you not saved all of your songs as backups? You should. A backup allows you to return to a song at a later date and continue working with it in its native Boss format with no loss in quality or editing capabilities. You can use the procedure in the BR manual to backup or restore the whole memory card, or you can use my BR Song Librarian program to save and load individual songs. You can download BR Song Librarian here:

https://songcrafters.org/64guitars/BR/Software.html

If you have a backup of "Winds of Change", or it's still on your Micro BR, then you can simply export the master track pair in WAV format (see pages 114 and 115 of the Micro BR manual). Or you can re-master the tracks and select WAV as the export format instead of MP3.

If you don't have a backup and all you have is the MP3, then there's no point converting it to WAV format as the quality is already lost and cannot be restored by converting it to WAV format. So just import the MP3 file directly into Audacity and do your trimming, etc. then export it to a new MP3.

QuoteUntil I can figure it out, I will post another song in a new thread.

I look forward to hearing it.
