Next to "The Piano's Been Drinking" This is my favorite Tome Waits songs. I love all his stuff but I've always been partial to the late 70's Tom, so I thought I'd have a go at this one. It's out of my cover book and I've been doing it solo for over 5 years but let's 4 string it up! 6 tracks- the Ukulele & vocals were recorded live,2 Mandolin tracks & 2 guitar tracks. I layered everything in verse by verse kind of like his hopes are building through the tune. Hope you enjoy!

as soon as I saw this was a Tom Waits song, and who was doing the cover....well damn man, I just had to stop everything I was doing and have a listen, one of many, many listens.  This one may get bumped a lot.  This is so flipping good, and lovely, and wonderful.  This is my favorite of your covers at this point.  Your voice is realy good, the instrumentation is fantastic.  It is not too often that you hear a Tom Waits cover that stands up to the original.  You have done it here my good man.  I love Tom Waits, love him.  I love this cover, love it.  You are one cool dude.  I need more listens to this.........going back in............
