This was mostly taken from an email I got about the concept of Paraprosdokian arrangement.
This is when two phrases are put together with a twist at the end.
A very popular mechanism in humor and country music.
I can't take credit for the ideas only the assembly, the rhyming and the music.

This is all BR800
Drums DR880
Guitar Yamaki A335S.

V1
(G) I was indecisive. Now I'm not so (D) sure.
When(D) I agreed, you called it mature(G)
And (G)we'd make love all (G7)over, all day (C)long
But when I agreed with (D)you, we both were (G) wrong.
 Chorus
The (C) last thing I (D7)want to do is (G)hurt you.
Cause you were the First girl I kissed
The last thing I want to do is (G)hurt you. (Em)
But (A) you should know Girl
 (C) you should know
(D) it's still on the (G) list.
V2
A clear conscience is just a poor memory
Nostalgia,  just ain't what it used to be
This old dog can still learn something lame
Like if it ain't my fault, I'm still to blame
Solo
Chorus
V3
You come home and say 'Good Evening,'
and then you proceed to tell me why it ain't
I've been living in the garage, but that don't make me a car
Just like going to church don't make you a saint

the assembly of ideas usually is called !creativity! and here's masterfully used to tell a story. I love all in this song except one thing, but everyone has his own 'fissazioni' : that the 'sound' of the chorus is too much identical to the one of the verse - I would go change (add something in the chorus-maybe second voice harmonizing) to make this just perfect ! lovely guitars go in couter-tempo, wonderfully.

Thanks guys. A good comment Maxit. I agree and will be ducking, cutting and adding to bring some definition and separation once I bring it into Sonar for the final mix. This is all just thru the BR800 and it has limited and more difficult editing. (tho it has a pretty amazing array of presets for the price)
My approach is to jam over the drums with several tracks to get the fun happening and then thin and cut and paste.

Hi Glenn, I've played a lot of country in my time and this is as good as it gets. I've been to the grand Ole Opry and visited most of the honky tonks in Nashville at sometime or other and this stands up among some of the best I saw and listened to. Love it............Willie

This is a  good one Glenn.....I like the double, contradictory use of the words and phrases in the lyric. Clever! Paraprosdokian arrangement....I've never heard of that term but now I have. The music and vocals are real good also. Country doesn't hurt my ears at all....I've been known to do a few country tunes myself. Great work!
