Can I turn my whistling into midi notes?

I don't know how to play keyboards, but I can whistle.  Is there any way I can whistle into a microphone and have a computer detect the frequency and turn that into an music note (or autotuned to the nearest chromatic note)?  So I can "play" a synth clarinet or flute or tuba by whistling?

You could do it with one of these:

There's a 1/4" phone jack on one end which you can plug a microphone into. The other end has a standard midi connector which you can connect to a synth or a midi port on your computer (if you have one).

But, since you can play guitar, you might find the guitar to be a better way of creating midi sequences.

At about 5:20 in this video, he demonstrates using a mic to control a synthesizer.

If you don't have a midi port on your computer, you could buy a USB midi converter. Or, you could get the i2M instead of the G2M. The i2M is more expensive but it has a USB port instead of a midi port, so you can connect it directly to your computer and record midi sequences in a software sequencer or a suitable DAW.
