Once again I have to thank James, because thanks to his voice another of my musical dreams - to make a cover of the wonderful "Fairytale of New York" - now is reality.  :D

Fairytale of New York is also a very, very difficult song to sing, expecially the version by Christy Moore - the one who was inspirational to my arrangement - and I know that for James it wasn't  absolutely easy, beacuse in the chorus the lyrics must be sung in an incredibly fast way...so my congrats to Giacomino, molto, molto bravo!

Ah...I was in doubt if this should be under the Cityfest or the Yulefest 2011 section...64chitarre will decide!  :D

Technical stuff:

- myself on acoustic guitars.
- for the rhythm section (bass and bodhran) I've used, as usual, Band in a Box.
- the pedal steel and the uillean pipes...is myself on an electric guitar (Gibson Les Paul)  :o driving VST Kontakt instruments via the new small and revolutionary Sonuus i2M MusicPort. A new musical universe is opening...  :D

One last thing...I'm seriously thinking about leaving digital recorders and make everything with my computers. This time I've recorded everything using only Reaper and Adobe Audition: I'm beginning to think that everything is easier and faster.

Enjoy!

My oh my...this is stunning! A masterful collaboration...I love all the authentic parts in this recording, and Jim you're sounding quite warm and smooth here.

First heard this song done by Shane MacGowan & Kirsty MacColl many moons ago - and immediately loved it. Gritter & Wiley also did an excellent version for Yulefest 2009.

Great work, fellas!  :)

Really enjoyed this one! Don't know the Christy Moore version, but anyone who can sing that chorus in one go deserves a clap! Fantastic playing Alfredo, and a great vocal Jim..very, very nice!
