What a year I'm having!!! ???

Remember January?, RecycleFest?  That's when I started this project.  As it turned out, owing to illness, I didn't get much done this year.

Finally I finished this one.  I'm not sure what the original genre is ~ funk?, Gospel?~ , nor am I sure what I changed it to ~ rock? ~ , but here it is.  Written and composed by Glen Ballard & Siedah Garret for Michael Jackson from 1988, a no.1 cut from MJ's seventh solo album, Bad.

This song climbed to number 2 again after Michael's death in 2009.

This is excellent, Rolow! I wouldn't have guessed it was a Michael Jackson song, although I do remember the chorus from way back. At times, the song reminded me of Todd Rundgren and, somehow, The Byrds? But it's all you.  Definitely a RecycleFest song, and a very cool take on it, too.  :)

Sorry to hear about the tough year - I can relate. I hope things have settled now and good times lie ahead.

What a nice country spin on this one. Then the pre-chorus sounds all 60's-ish.  Makes me appreciate the tune more.

Great cover.

Great Stuff!
I agree with the other guy's,this has got a 60s feel about it and that guitar is very Byrds'y.
Brill job.

I hadn't Intended a country twist, but your certainly not wrong.

Others noted a Byrds bent.  That comes from a habit (rut) I've gotten into of playing two guitar parts, panned far left and right that kinda bounce off each other, rythmically and harmonically.

Anyway, thanks a lot for taking a listen and thanks for the comments!

Great cover Rolow, very nice take on the song! I too get a Byrds vibe from those crisp guitars, but great vocals as well, all in all very well done!

I too didn't recognize the song until the chorus. Up until that point I was thinking, What a nice bit of Alt Pop. This is the way this song should have always been done.
