it's no biggy, but still quite annoying.

i have connected my micro BR to my stereo, using a mini jack to stereo cable... thingy. the left and right ends of the cable go into the AUX input on my stereo. however, when i am panning things on the BR, it's coming out of the opposite side to what it should. this is the case through the speakers, and headphones when plugged in via the stereo. i have checked to make sure the speakers are connected to the right output on the stereo, although i wouldn't have thought this should affect the result through headphones anyway. i also checked that i have plugged the left and right ends of the cable into the corresponding AUX input on the stereo. everything is in order. any ideas what else it could be?

From your post, it's seems all you need to do is switch the plugs on your aux input.

You stated that you checked to make sure they were plugged in to the correct corresponding aux inputs, but did you switch them to verify that did not solve the problem?

cheers, yeah, that has done the job. i thought there might have been a more complicated reason though. just making sure really. still... on the aux cable, the red is right and white left. so you would they should go into the corresponding aux input. but in this case, it's the opposite. what a sick, sick world we live in.
