MBR - Card Read Errors - Am I screwed?

I already replaced the card and am getting Card Read Error with the new card.

it must be cos it's halloween, cos my mbr is playing tricks on me, stuff i recorded vanishing without trace , recording new tracks and they are not there on playback, card read error the works, backing up card now and gonna reformat it and try again.

could be dirt on your card reader, a while back i thought my mbr was dead but part of the plastic off of a battery was jammed in the card reader preventing sd card from making contact, removed the bit off plastic mbr was like new, dust n dirt can have same effect also dirt on card too. in past i found expensive sd cards like kingston cards didnt work i buy cheapest generic card no label they work every time.

right better see if my card is sorted.

reformatted card all good now, think i had too much on card and batteries where low.

I didn't transfer anything from the other card.
I just started fresh, recorded a few things and then got the error again.
