You can also buy the 'Whole Enchilada' IAP for UK£3.99.  – I did :) it gives a lot of extra guitars/amps/FX and a recorder

Cheers Geir. Downloaded it just after your post. Sounds interesting but looks a little confusing, we will see. :-\

Quote from: chip on October 20, 2015, 05:03:00 AMI have gone a little crazy at the moment due to app gas. I am now considering the kaossilator for i phone. My intention is to get the app, then off load the hardware version. But, Is it any better than the hardware version, is it the same.? I like the real one but if the app one is the same or better then the other one can go.

I've only used the real one for one evening when a friend was over from England with hers. But I've used the one on the iphone a little bit. I like it, but not enough to get full use out of it. I think they are comparable in abilities etc.,   I just wish they had a lot more rock drum patterns in it. I also tend to record the bits and mix them into other guitar based recordings. So I don't really use it as a stand alone work horse.

Looks cool.  Sorry if somebody posted this already. Looks like an update to an earlier app (Geosynth maybe?).

I downloaded it last night, haven't had a chance to play yet. I'm excited by the bass rigs sims, but I'm worried that my iPhone 5 16Gb is getting a bit long in the tooth now.  Don't really want to upgrade.

It also says it will record changes in volume & filter settings in the synths in real time, which is good.

I agree. And there's a version available for Windows and Mac that's completely free (although not supported). I've played around with it in Linux under Wine and I was quite impressed.

Scroll down to the bottom of that page for the free Windows and Mac versions.

Of course, if you're using iOS or Android, you should purchase the appropriate version for your device. It's only $9.99 and I think it's well worth the money.

Here are a couple of videos. The first is just a quick promo. The second demonstrates how to use Caustic.

Also, I noticed that since I last tried Caustic, it's been updated to version 3.1. Here's a video that shows what's new. I especially like the added MIDI support.
