"String of Pearls" (LITLR)

It was a real tough icon choice,but I had to settle on the banjo. This is my 3rd banjo tune, wrote it yesterday & recorded it live tonight. I might try to add some other parts another time.

I sing my words like a string of pearls
with fragile sensibilities
If I drop just one syllable
this string will snap & I'll look the fool
as I slip up on my words
rolling like gumballs across the floor

see I try to convey just one side
the side I've built up and placed right beside
the rest of my crap that makes me
want to run and hide

Now I've learned to swallow my pride
& let my heart be my guide
now I'll try my best
to open my arms big & wide
& I'll embrace the on coming tide

What a lovely voice!. I'm not normally a banjo fan (I think of my grandfather with all his 1st world war tunes) but you have a fine tone on this one.

Oh my word! This is incredible. That descending chord pattern hit me hard straight from the start. The banjo gives it a very fresh feel, but those vocals... immense! A superb live performance, but I really think this song should be given the full-band treatment. I could listen to this one all day.
