A ritornello taken from Henry Purcell's 'From Hardy Climes and Dangerous Toils of War' ( 1683).  Does this actually belong in "Covers"?   SSTB recorders

this is brilliant!

It's ages since I heard any Purcell and I'm sure it belongs in Covers.

Nice one.

This is indeed brilliant Lemgandi.

I love baroque music.

My music teacher at school was very keen, to the extent that he had a collection of crumhorns and cornetts and made everybody  who studied music join his baroque ensemble.  I was a bit of a trumpet player at school so I was encouraged to play cornett, which I'm sure you know is a bit like a recorder but with a brass-style mouthpiece.  Secretly I loved it.  Sadly I didn't keep up either instrument.  I thought the guitar was the only instrument I needed.  This was a bad decision.

I'd love to hear more like this.

Simply beautiful.

I too love baroque music (and recorders), and this genre gets a lot of play around our house. To my ear, this sounds as good as any of the recordings I've ever bought on CD.
