Really excellent compelling song - I agree with the Dylan/Cohen/Young influences but to be honest I like this better - it really suits your voice and its got real power while still keeping that under-stated raw vibe.

Hi Geir,

I really liked this too.  However, I didn't hear Dylan or Neil Young or anyone else.  I reckon you owned this sound and made it your own original thing. 

I recently watched a Springsteen dvd of him doing an acoustic version of some of his songs with just guitar and harmonica.  The stripped back sound was very moving. I am not comparing you to Springsteen but  I thought your song was moving too.

One fun thing with this song is that if I hadn't used the harmonica (which was a last minute decision) I don't think I'd gotten any Dylan/Young vibe from it. But my first thought after adding the harp and listening to it was "oh have I stolen this from Neil young???"

Don't think you stole it from anyone but I love it! Great vox and great instruments, particularly liked the bass here. A real stripped down folky piece that just hits you right between the eyes.

Well, you sold me on this one Geir.

On the first notes, I thought "this sounds like a sea chanty".
Then I started reading the lyrics, and it fit like a glove.

That harp is perfect in there too man.
