Hi,

I am looking to replace my old zoom ps-02.

Need something with a really good built in stereo/mono mic for recording acoustic guitar and vocals, good guitar tones and a good drum machine.

Does the Br-80 fit my description? Will it be able to record into my DAW by plugging it into my line-in the pc? Does it have really good drum sounds that i can programme so my songs can have a realistic sounding drum track?

Or is their another unit I should be looking at?

Thanks for your time.

If small size and low price are important to you, then you won't find a better recorder than the BR-80. Its features are quite impressive.

You can connect it to the Line In of your PC if you want to, but there's really no need since the BR-80 acts as a USB audio interface. That means that by simply connecting a USB cable between the BR-80 and your computer, you can record the sound from the BR-80, including its effects, directly to your DAW. You can also monitor the sound from your computer through the BR-80's headphone jack or Line Out.

Also, you can export tracks recorded in the BR-80 to your DAW for further processing and/or final mixing using the included BR Wave Converter software.

If you don't care about size and you're willing to spend a bit more, then there are several other recorders you might prefer, depending on your needs, such as the Boss BR-800 or Zoom R24. But the value for money of the BR-80 is hard to beat.

I was all set for a br-80 (which is in my price range) but then saw it canonly do 4/4 drum patterns which would be no good to me.

So now I am considering a zoom mrs-8 which seems to have everything i need.

Thanks
