It's Only Make Believe. Written by Conway Twitty and Jack Nance. Released in 1958.  I grew up listening to this song on my sister's record player and a transistor radio. I loved it from the first time I heard it.  It's been in my head since I was 7 years old. So I decided to jump in my time machine and do a cover of it. This is an updated version that has been mastered by LANDR. I'm playing acoustic and electric guitars, bass, doing all the vocals. Frank Northcutt is playing the drums.

I didn't really remember the song until you got to the chorus - then I remembered. But I had completely forgotten that it was a Conway Twitty song!

Really sweet recording and performance, Farrell. Love the harmonies!

I came across this post from 2011 and saw I had deleted it. So it was the perfect opportunity to remaster it with LANDR and repost.

Please excuse my self indulgence with this personal BUMP from the past.

Here is a beautiful song that I did not know.
you did a great remastering and you did well to bump it

The first thing that struck me was the musical construction of the song, which is really typical of the 60's
To find out more I listened to the original version by Conway Twitty (who I didn't know either)

A voice that sounds a lot like Elvis Presley's (same range...but not at all the incomparable tremolo of Elvis)..and I don't think Elvis recorded this song and there is some confusion on YT where some version (without live picture) are attributed to him
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

A great bump! So how long have you sounded this good? Did it take those formative 7 years to reach these heights, or were you already sounding this good straight from the cradle? :)

I can imagine baby Farrell opening his eyes in a wide amazement, scanning the people around, and opening his mouth and saying: It's only make believe!

This is SO GOOD that it makes me to believe such things :)
