This is a song by Jules Shear. I recorded it the same evening as "The Other End" and "Blame it on Cain," but then I realized that Jules Shear didn't count for the current Singer-Songwriter fest.

Anyway, it's the same one-mic, mono, no-tweaks treatment as the other two. And like the other two, it's a favorite from my open-mic quiver.

Sounds great Ted...love how you pull off this style...I hear a little bit of Mick influence in your vocal approach and that is always a good thing. I don't know the song or artist but I'm lovin' this version of yours. Soulful stuff.

Mick Jagger?

Mick as in Irish?

Mick(ey) Mouse?

When I listen to my singing lately, I do notice that I have an accent of some kind. Don't know what to call it.  If you mean Irish, I can't even fake an Irish accent. It's interesting that you would hear it in my singing.

Another cool one Ted. I don't quite hear any form of Mick though. I hear all Ted.

Master bump.

A friend of mine is considering leaving the town that just doesn't feel right anymore. I looked up this song to send to him. There's still not a good recording of Jules Shear performing this song online. So I looked it up here, and was reminded that it's exactly 10 years since I posted it.
