It was a weird week, trying to balance work and fun. I was especially annoyed with how trivial Friday went until we hit the basement. On a side note, in the last decade, I sorta stopped drinking....... Mark cured me.

Mark did
Tony did
got a lot of things going through my mind

enough of that bullshit daily grind

Mark locked in to a kick ass a riff

its tight as hell and I'm gettin stiff

beer is good alcohol in my brains

washing away the bullshit stains

numbnut complains "the file's too big"

completely forgotten with another swig

fat bitch crying "the keyboards broke"

have another bagel and I hope you choke

a few brews down and I'm done crying

one more round and I'll be flying

(bridge)

I bet Tim has an pint in hand

jim's so pissed he can barely stand

Tharek and Geir were throwing down

a couple pints in Mikes home town

Friday's through and I came straight home

grabbed a beer and a microphone

looked at my amp decided no

acoustic's the way it's gotta go

Hot damn this is good guys.  Really great to hear you belt one out Tony.  stuttering, staggering, lurching with a huge heart and soul......this is a kind of soul music.  I can almost hear the wide open midwestern prairie here, cattle clomping around.  Its almost a strange blues of sorts.  Very cool sounding.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Not much of a gambler, are you?

I love the (unintended) Zappa-esqe quality to this.

Hang on... just had to put my pint down to type, lol.

I really dig this. Reminds me of the White Stripes' brand of lo-fi, ramshackle blues - and in a very good way. The recurring acoustic lead riff is brilliant, and I love the way it locks into a stuttering groove with the vocal and drum. Cool production too... it floats into a different place with that sweet acoustic solo at the end.

The boys done good!

p.s. Stopped drinking? Forever? What's the secret cure that Mark's packing?!

a couple 18 packs of budweiser and a significant lack of motivation!

Honestly though, I wasn't a very good drunk. I woke up one day with one too many regrets, and realized that remorse and intoxication were hand in hand. To give one up, I needed to give up the other. Now I've matured, I can handle a good buzz, but it's a rare occasion.
