This is a stunner and a real slow burner and it was an incredibly good TV series too. Stephen Rea as the character 'Gatehouse' was one of the scariest and best performances probably since Dennis as Frank in Blue Velvet...

I get a lot of Canadians in my taxi and there are also a few around 'cos of the links with the fishing industry (whats left of it).The port of Newlyn flies the Canadian flag alongside the Cornish flag (white cross on a black background). From what I see here and from talking to the Canadian's I pick up, are you all Anglophiles? You seem to know so much of our popular culture, especially TV. I understand a lot of it is broadcast in Canada. And sadly, I can't think of a single Canadian TV show!!

Not familiar with the show but that's a great theme song. The vocals are excellent and I love those drums.

Probably the earliest TV theme song I remember, and a long time favorite:

But there are dozens that I remember...I watched a lot of American TV as a kid, both first-run and re-runs, in the late Sixties through the Seventies.

There are a lot of British TV shows on the public broadcasting stations, both in Canada and from the USA. I've always loved British TV. In my opinion, most Canadian TV is boring. Off the top of my head, I can't think of a single Canadian TV show that I really enjoyed, though I'm sure there must have been a few. American TV is generally better than Canadian TV and there have been several shows that I liked (a current favourite is the sitcom "The Big Bang Theory". I must post that show's theme by the Bare Naked Ladies). But neither Canadian TV nor American TV can hold a candle to British TV in my opinion. I love it!

One thing I will say about the Canadian TV scene is that a lot of popular American shows are produced in Canada. It's just that the Canadian networks don't pick them up and the American networks do.

Theme from "The Big Bang Theory"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItIdeKg5kt4

Our whole universe was in a hot dense state
Then nearly fourteen billion years ago expansion started

Wait!

The earth began to cool
The autotrophs began to drool
Neanderthals developed tools
We built a wall
We built the pyramids
Math, science, history
Unraveling the mystery
That all started with the big bang
Bang!

Since the dawn of man is really not that long
As every galaxy was formed in less time than it takes to sing this song
A fraction of a second and the elements were made
The bipeds stood up straight
The dinosaurs all met their fate
They tried to leap but they were late
And they all died
They froze their asses off

The oceans and pangea
See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya
Set in motion by the same big bang

It all started with the big... bang!

It's expanding ever outward, but one day
It will pause and start to go the other way
Collapsing ever inward,
We won't be here,
It won't be heard
Our best and brightest figure that it'll make an even bigger bang

Austrelopithicus would really have been sick of us
Debating how we're here
They're catching deer
We're catching viruses

Religion now astronomy
Encarta, deuteronomy
It all started with the big bang
Music and mythology
Einstein and astrology
It all started with the big bang
It all started with the big...
Bang!

I don't particularly enjoy this, but I absolutely love Ted Lange's double-finger point at around the 1:25 mark.  Makes me smile every time.
