This was the past songfight entry. I've been pretty absent but I've actually written at least 40 songs this year already.  I've finally had some time to listen so I figured I'd share one with ya'll.

This tune actually needs some work. So if you listen and hear anything that you either don't like or would like to hear improved please say so. That includes the writing, recording, mixing, structure... well anything. Give it to me. Be mean about it too if you can. I know that's almost impossible here so I'll make that optional. But I need it to sink in. Thanks much

They say I'm living in a Cloud
I'm just one of many
There is quite a crowd
They say I'm living in a Cloud

They say I'm like a cuckoo bird
I'll tell you stories
The strangest that you've heard
They say I'm like a cuckoo bird
(I'm flying high)
(Up in the sky)

No matter where I go
or what I say
How much I wish
How much you pray
It's not your fault
I ended up this way
They say I'm crazy

They say I live in a faerie land
They just don't want
To try and understand
They say I live in a faerie land
(Brownies and pixies and sprites)
(Magical dust and pots of gold)

No matter where I go
or what I say
How much I wish
How much you pray
It's not your fault
I ended up this way
They say I'm crazy

Gritter

A nice melody, I like the muddy sound. Only thing I can think that might improve it is a bit of drums.

lg

It's great to see a new Piggie-Post!
We've missed you.
Love the lead on this, the guitars have a nice sound to them.
Gotta agree with Sandy, you need drums!!!!
Nice punchy rhythm  guitar with now drums to back it, it's
almost sinful Dude!
Vox is great, lyrics too.
I'd like to download this to my mp3 player to listen better....,
But it seems that I can't!

Welcome back T.C! I've missed your songs...

Cool song; beautiful and melodic! I loved the guitar sound, too. It gives a nice contrast on the melody!

Nice to hear a song from you again!
I like it as it is. As gritter said, maybe a little bit o snare, but it is great already.

Hey Piggie... this is a really nice tune... I really like. Constructively... the spoken words in the background were a little low in the beginning you brought them up nicely before the solo; however, I think I would have kept them hard panned to one side... I'm no expert at recording... But, I normally try to hard pan backup vox to keep some separation... I think this way you could bring them up to a level that is legible to the ear without drowning out the main vox. Hope this helps bro.... this is a really great tune.

This one sounds great, PFJ! I agree with Gritter, great muddy tone, love the vox, but all I hear for drums are cymbals and maybe a little kick. Sweet solo! And I like the background talking too.

Great tune, has a lot going for it!

All right TC.

Here is my .02:

I think this is a great tune. Maybe one of the best I have heard from you on here.
I listened to it a couple times, and it has a great vibe to it. I love that dirty guitar sound. Has that grungy "Neil" flavour. Maybe even a little "Cake" too.

I do think the "Flying High up in the sky" background vox distract too much from your main vocals.
I would tone that part down, or just use it a little more sparingly.

(but what do I know?  ;D)
It ain't pretty being easy.
