Roland Japan will announce today the new microBR.

Besides new effects and drum patterns, the unit will have midi connection for sync, and a xlr phantom power input.
Unfortunately there will no edit track functions just like the BR800. Just check Roland Japan today for more news on it!

In all seriousness, Musikmesse starts this Wednesday, so it is possible that a new recorder could be introduced there. Roland has announced new recorders at Musikmesse in the past. The BR-800 and V-Studio 20 were announced at Musikmesse 2010, the BR-1600v2 in 2005, and the BR-864 in 2003. So let's keep our fingers crossed for a new recorder announcement on Wednesday. At the very least, I'm hoping they'll announce the BR-800 firmware update and make it available on their websites.
