got the music to this in an email from kari at 3pm so had to get it done fast as i had the kids to pick up from school at 4pm , i managed to get it done  in the nick of time. i like the pressure of that.

last night i had a heavy listening session of neil hannon and the divine comedy. so when i heard the tune from kari i thought i could try sing like him, neil hannon is a bit of a wordsmith so i thought up the line  "in your august presence" and thought it was a good fit, i initially thought it would be a love song but as some of you know i am considering doing an open mic thing with some of my songs, so i imagined myself in that position, the words flowed.

the words
in your august
presence
i feel
insecure and feeble
of the mind
and body
what the hell am i doing up here
anyway

a step too far
a move too soon

all of my fingers
have
become
thumbs
ive no control
disconnected from my mind and body
what the hell am i doing up here
anyway

a step too far
a move too soon
and what the hell am i doing up here
anyway

a step too far
a move too soon
and what the hell am i doing up here
anyway

in your august
presence
i feel
insecure and feeble
of the mind
and body
and what the hell am i doing up here
anyway

a step too far
a move too soon

what the hell am i doing?

Great job on the vocals and lyrics, James! It took 51 minutes when I had posted the music track to you :) .

Thanks for the info as well; your voice sounded different than usually. Must check Divine Comedy out...
