Hi everyone. The names John, from Northern Ireland. Been playing guitar since I was small and, well, I'm now in my 30's (but 40 next week!)

My family have chipped in and bought me a BR-800 and some nice Roland monitors. The package just arrived yesterday and was swiftly confiscated by my wife  >:( until the big day next week.

So, some cunning was required. I told her I needed to "test the kit" - to avoid disappointment on my birthday. So... as testament to how usable these BR's are, I recorded a short (<40 secs) jamming track within about half an hour of unboxing it  ;D

Oh boy oh boy... I'm going to enjoy this! Hopefully, I can learn more when the stuff is officially mine, but meanwhile, here's my track. No chance to edit the drums or anything so forgive the abrupt ending  :-\

Thanks for the warm welcome and the positive comments  ;) I do love guitars - and this br-800 has relit my fire! I play an Ibanez JS1200CA (satriani signature series). I was very lucky to meet Joe when he played in Belfast a few years ago. We chatted about how he has worked with Ibanez to create these beauties. He told me how he started with a clay Strat based body and shaped it with a knife to get the now famed JS shape. The neck shape is taken from his favourite neck - 360 degree scanned and reproduced onto these guitars. They feel 'right' - pre worn, yet new!

He signed my guitar that day. I'll not forget it  ;D

I play a '87 Strat too. It's a USA Standard that I've modded with Lace Sensor Hot Gold pickups. Its a lovely old axe that I bought new in '87 and will never part with.

I grew up on Clapton, Dire Straits & Gary Moore (since he was a Belfast born blues hero of mine). I was and still am a massive Van Halen fan and continue that with the great tunes of 'Chickenfoot' with Sammy Hagar on vocals and Satriani on lead.

So, I'll quit rambling! Hope to share many tunes with you that have been locked in my head for too long  :o

For his name to be so well known, and despite the fact that I'd know a Gallagher custom shop Strat at 20 paces.... I've not heard one track of his music  :-[ Must add him to my to do list!

Saw Clapton in concert in Glasgow. That was simply awesome. It was his first tour after his sons death. I'll never forget his acoustic 'tears in heaven' that night. You could have heard a pin drop.

Welcome aboard. Those are serious fretboard skills. We'll look forward to hearing more material from you, and with talent like that, I reckon you'll have some collaboration requests before too long. Dive on in!

Welcome from San Diego, CA!!!

Awesome stuff! Great preview of what's to come! As a fellow br800 user, I already know firsthand the journey that lies ahead ;)

That JS1200 is one serious piece of gear! I've always been a big fan of Ibanez guitars.
