We recorded this one after a couple practice runs, and I think it could turn out pretty good after a few more plays and better intonation with C tuning. I'm a huge Queens of the Stone Age fan!

Again a partial recording of a live jam with a couple buddies of mine.

The vox need to come up in the mix, but I love the meaty bass and the descending riff pattern on this. I like QOTSA a lot, but don't recall hearing this song. Sounds fab though. Can I request that you guys do 'Feelgood Hit of the Summer' ?! Fine work again, Mark. I like the direction you're going in with these boys.

Hey, deadly good Mark and friends.  It sounds so fun, how the hell you get that bass to sound like that, mighty fine bro.  This is proper garage band sound here, Neil Young would be damn proud of you guys.  You guys need to try some of your originals Mark, blown away, would be the result.  Nice drumming from Chris, hold the beat really well, thats groove man.  You and the drums are locked in pretty damn tight.

I am a QOTSA fan too, but haven't heard this song before..guess I can't be that good a fan ;D

Joel's vocal is f*cking brilliant..he even sounds a bit like Josh Homme in places, and agree that it could come up in the mix a bit as it needs to be heard in its full glory!

You guys sound like a band who have been playing together for 20 years, and you actually create a sound that gives the impression that there are more than three of you playing.

Would love to witness this live....a video of you guys performing would be cool.

Wow, thanks for the great compliments, guys! Yeah, live recording is rugged. Cords, mics, thrashing drummer next to you... I'm glad  I did all that acoustic guitar stuff a while back because it helped with the singing and playing at the same time.

Not to disappoint anyone, but I didn't use my MicroBR for these recordings. But, the overhead mics on the drums are kind of tough to deal with and the recording process is a different ball game.

Dave, I had an old Epiphone Accu-Bass that I lowered the action and set the intonation for C tuning - The first bass I owned and Joel still had it laying around. I also put it through a Vox ValveTone that Joel gave me. Works killer! I wish I gave it more gain, though.

Andrew and Tim - Yes, we know a couple more QOTSA tunes that we haven't recorded yet (Avon, Mexicola. The first album was our fave. I'll be singing Mexicola.) "Feel good hit of the summer" was on the list, maybe we'll try that at some point. We'll get some video out too - Joel's girlfriend will be sure of that (Ugh!).

So anyway, thanks again - I love the live thing, it freakin' rules!!
