A song from 1975, on Supertramp's 4th album Crisis, What Crisis?

I kept this introduction, whistled it and played it on the Kazoo, with sound effects including my famous rain stick...

Corné did the vocals, I did some backing vocals
bass, guitars ,ukulele, kazoo JP

i am not familiar with the original but this sounds fabulous, JP! at first i wondered where the intro was going then the song materialised into this excellent production. well done to all concerned. also i asked my uncle about the acoustic guitar sound he gets and he said he will message you with details.

Ah thank you Pru...
The intro was inspired by Supertramp's intro to the studio version of easy does it
A nice song about self-acceptance and taking life at a slower pace....
The song also encourages us to be content with life and find joy in the little moments, knowing that only we can truly shape our lives.
I really like the cover of this album with a tourist in a bathing suit, under an orange parasol in a black and white detritus decor...it reminds me a lot of a scene I saw in Port au Prince, in a shantytown wasteland of a guy sitting on a mound of garbage (there are no roads service in Port au Prince...) and playing the cello (Bach's Cello Suite No. 1!!!) it was mind-blowing.

"Où que vous soyez, les belles vibrations de la musique, lorsqu'elles viennent du cœur, peuvent changer n'importe quel environnement."

And thanks in advance to Ray for his information on the guitar sound of your song "Tilting at Windmills".

Ted

That bizarre guitar melody with the heavy reverb and the slap-back echo – it almost sounds like a koto. A meditative twist. Was that intentional?

This has a very adventurous and experimental quality to it, while still being lighthearted. That's quite a trick, but it goes well with the theme of the song: each individual is "their own superstar" and has the power to shape their destiny.

I'm debating whether to go listen to the original. So far, I'm against the idea.

it was indeed quite a journey and a pleasure to work with JP.
I do have an electric bass and guitar, i do have an acoustic guitar. I even have a keyboard and a Roland drum set What I seem to miss is skills. So to cure my at least 40y frustration I dicovered my instrument being my voice. So I finaly had the nerve to take singing lessons and make my voice heared thanks to Songcrafters.

Excellent work JP and Corné! Like Ted mentioned, I'm not familiar with this song but after hearing your take there's no need to search out the original Supertramp version. Well done gentlemen!

I know that album...

I never really liked this song much, but hearing it now, brings back good memories.
Really like what you did with it. Great lead and backing vocals, and both guitars sound awesome.

Now, I am posting mine...

I'm not familiar with this song, I've only ever heard Supertramp's single releases. Enjoyed listening to this! Nice vocals and interesting to hear a kazoo on a track.
