Greg Kihn had a couple great songs and this was one of them.  I saw this guy in a barn in California.  But no joke this dude was pretty darn big... this track right here at least half the earth has heard this.  Greg Kihn died last year and so yeah this is in memory of him...I think I caught a really more Neil Young version of this song...
it still has alot of energy though but in a way that makes the words way more powerful...no joke though... this song... as the way the Greg Kihn Band did it would always be on any playlist of mine.. just a really great rock track...but I went total oppo there.

I might do another version of this more like the original but the mood tonight was just play this on the acoustic and record it live.  I liked the vibe so here it is a cool mood piece...

The Hummingbird.

We had broken up for good just an hour before
Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh
Now I'm staring at the bodies as there's dancin' 'cross the floor
Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh
And then the band slowed the tempo and the music gets me down
Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh
It was the same old song with the melancholy sound
Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh
They don't write 'em like that anymore
They just don't write 'em like that anymore
We'd been living together for a million years
Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh
But now it feel so strange (out in the atmospheres?)
Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh
And then the jukebox plays a song I used to know
Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh
Now I'm staring at the bodies as they dancin' so slow
Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh
They don't write 'em like that anymore
They just don't write 'em like that anymore
Now I wind up staring at an empty glass
Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh
Cause its so easy to say that you'll forget your past
Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh
They don't write 'em like that anymore, no!
They just don't write 'em like that anymore
They don't write 'em like that anymore
They just don't write 'em like that anymore

Superbe chanson Stephen, comment avez vous enregistré la guitare DI with micro guitar or micro externe?

Il y a des intonation "Neil Young" dans la  voix ;)
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I used an MXL condenser mic about a meter away from me and about at the top of my head hanging from the ceiling, which is how I usually orient my condenser mic.  I hang it from a hook in the ceiling and control height with the cord.  If I sing close proximity then I use a pop filter to cover it.  For this though I did not need it.
I suppose this would be similar to a phone recording.

Oh yeah I hear this loud and clear, Stephen. That is a great mic set up that captures both the acoustic and your voice in detail. You do sound like Neil Young doing this Greg Kihn song! This song was also on our gigging set list but I never imagined it as an acoustic number. Excellent version Stephan...put it on the open mic set list...it will go over good!
