"Me and the Devil Blues" is a blues song by Robert Johnson. It tells the story of the singer's waking up one morning to the devil knocking on the door, telling him that "it's time to go".

The lyrics concluded with the lines "You may bury my body down by the highway side" / "So my old evil spirit can catch a Greyhound bus and ride." Johnson recorded the song, among others, in a warehouse in Dallas, that served as a makeshift recording studio, on June 19, 1937. It was his final recording session.

I do have an electric bass and guitar, i do have an acoustic guitar. I even have a keyboard and a Roland drum set What I seem to miss is skills. So to cure my at least 40y frustration I dicovered my instrument being my voice. So I finaly had the nerve to take singing lessons and make my voice heared thanks to Songcrafters.

This is great! It's more "Seamus" than "Delta" but so well done. One of my favorite blues singers is Robert Lighthouse, who pulls of American blues with a thick Swedish accent so well that it's my preferred way of hearing it. You're doing the same for me with your French accent.

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Thanks guys...a friend told me about Robert Johnson that he was the first of a series of musicians who died at 27!
Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse all died in their 27th year...
What if the devil had something to do with it? 👿👿

for me it's all right, I'm safe now

Yes, so many rock stars dying at the age of 27. Quite strange. This is a great cover, JP and you play the blues so well. That dobro is beautiful and I like your harmonica playing.
