who remembers (for the older ones) the Spotnicks?

This is a continuation of the story of my previous topic on Jimmie Nicol.

Indeed, Jimmie Nicole played for 2 years 66 and 67 with the Swedish instrumental rock band "The Spotnicks", who in those years were as popular as the English Shadows and the American
American Venture

he can be seen in this video clip as the drummer of the Spotnicks

The Spotnicks' lead guitarist was an electronics engineer who had perfected a very powerful amplification system (135 watts for the time!) and an unrivalled magnetic-tape echo chamber that gave them that original sound (which I didn't really like, preferring the sound of the Shadows and the Ventures).
...but in the end it was a very special sound
listen or listen again to "Telstar" or "Orange Blosson special" or "galoping guitar".

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I don't remember The Spotnicks at all. I would like to say they were before my time but unfortunately they were not  :). It is inventive that the lead guitarist put together a 135 watt amp and the magnetic tape echo chamber. Although I did listen to The Shadows a little but more so The Ventures because they were being played on American radio at that time. Cool stuff, JP!

I remember the Spotnicks very well and they were way before my time. I'm sure Farrell would remember them too without the Woodstock.

And now if Farrell claims that he never went to Woodstock THAT just proves the point :D
