more craziness.  I have been typing about jazz with Zoltan.  and others.
so for me this leans that way... but more so prog.
the problem is/  I collect... as I go along.. so anything that enters my aural cavities will have impact.  also smell... smells have impact.

but these days it is a recognition of energy.  we usually aren't aware of it logically but we feel it... we sense it.
it makes us warm or cold.. it helps us see color.  it gives us warnings... that we must listen to.

so anyway... I collect.. and after 65 years of this I can input a type of feedback into humanity based on what I have received... if you study PID systems you will see what I am talking about.

like when you get in the shower... if the water is too cold you reach for the hot valve and open it slightly... if it is not responding you open it more... if it responds too much you close it more... .
and so forth... we listen to each others input... analyze and then give a response... sometimes it is we are with you... you rock... other times it is .... nope... shut the F up... and other times it is... you need some more info... but you are on the right track..
are any of us right?  are any of us wrong?  we help each other stay centered and grounded... ok... did I go into preaching here?

also I started this with bass...I was chatting with Zoltan today... I am starting to realize that music for me right now is just about one thing... being into it... whatever it is.. if I am playing and it isn't feeling inspired I want to shut it down.. or do something I am into..

so today i picked up the bass first... and played it hard... got bored.. and then got into it.

then drums...
then guitar.

must mention... mixed on zoom L-20.. mastered in audacity with masterdesk

2 guitar tracks...

Zoltan

"Some musicians say, if what I'm doing is right, they should never have gone to school.

I say, there is no single right way to play jazz. Some of the comments made about my music make me realize though that modern jazz, once so daring and revolutionary, has become, in many respects, a rather settled and conventional thing.

With my music, as is the case with some of my friends who are painters, I often have people come to me and say, "I like it but I don't understand it." Many people apparently don't trust their reactions to art or to music unless there is a verbal explanation for it. In music, the only thing that matters is whether you feel it or not. You can't intellectualize music; to reduce it analytically often is to reduce it to nothing very important. It is only in terms of emotional response that I can judge whether what we are doing is successful or not. If you are touched in some way, then you are in with me. I love to play for people, and how they react affects my playing."
- Ornette Coleman, 1959

"Stephen might in fact be the last true remaining jazz artist"
- Zoltan, 2024

"Now go young man! Play that flute!"
- Zoltan, 2024

(Ok, that last one was pushing it :D).

I say go with what you feel and hear in your head. I'm not sure if it's jazz or not but I enjoyed the listen. But I sort of felt like a beatnik afterwards.  ;)

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

Yeah, definitely a fusion vibe. Kinda reminds me of a more rock based Bitches Brew (so, early 70s German hippie rock I guess, check out Yeti by Ammon Düll 2!). Cool use of wah wah guitar here and the bass holds everything together!

Very cool - are you using a wah-wah pedal on one guitar track?

This sounds very 70s jazz rock! The percussion is great and I like the slightly avant garde feel. Nice use of wah wah. Cool.

sure enough Doug... though I think it sounds like more than 1 because of the delay effect and panning I used... I did not copy any tracks though

Hey!  If you feel it, play it!
Sounds good. Thanks for letting me into your musical psyche.
