Jumped out at me in the Apple Music 1974 Rock playlist, turns out was released in 1973.  D'oh!

Notwithstanding, great fun to play and sing. Two acoustic guitar tracks, two vocals, GB drums, GB bass. Simples.

Wow, what a great take on this song. I would happily steal your vibe for the next gig with John and myself. I think the unedited version of this tune is a guitar master class. I love what you did here.

i really dig your backing vocals on this.. I think those alone make this a worthy listen...

overall I think the cover is great... and that bass in the chorus is really doing it for me.!

cool... it takes balls to do this one.. and you did it good...
I wanted to try this some time... but it would not sound anything like this... probably never will though...
but I do work on the drums sometimes... that is a real challenge

Wow, what a surprise a cover from a famouse Dutch band "The Golden Earring".
Love it well done.
I do have an electric bass and guitar, i do have an acoustic guitar. I even have a keyboard and a Roland drum set What I seem to miss is skills. So to cure my at least 40y frustration I dicovered my instrument being my voice. So I finaly had the nerve to take singing lessons and make my voice heared thanks to Songcrafters.

Great cover Nick, really works well the way you've done it ! One of my favourites from that year but I've always thought it would be a difficult one to record.

Maybe you can submit it for the 1974 Fest...the way it's worded is:

1974 Fest - Covers of songs released or that charted in 1974.

This is a stunner.  Do you know what?  This could be the best version of this song that I have ever heard.  There.  I said it.

I shall listen again.

Nick ain't no friend of the Devil.

Not sure if anyone got that line of thought :) So let's try that again: The choruses have a Grateful Dead vibe to them!

I never heard the original in this way, but now i can't get it out of my head. You managed to make it your own and i'd rather hear this version than the original.

Great version of this track! The guitar sounds so good, nice and mellow. Awesome vocals here too, especially when the harmonies come in.
