Words Are Strange - a Pipes Chapperz song

This is another song which I posted years ago as an instrumental called The Newton Raphson Method. (I was "helping" my son with his A level maths homework at the time).

Nick sent me a phenomenal vocal performance - simply staggering - which meant that I had to up my game and redo/add to a lot of it and completely remix and master it.

I had to redo the percussion as I think back then I used a my Yamaha XS7 keyboard to do the drums and obviously exported all the kits as a single stereo track. I now get twitchy unless I have 20 or so tracks of drums to faff with.  So I also added a load of Latin percussion - they were quite difficult to program!.

Fantastic track, Paul; got me straight from that percussion intro and then the guitars ... wow. Nick's vocal is the icing and excellent production. Prog rock at its best. 'A level' maths? Jeez, I struggled with bloody 'O level' maths back in the early 70's.

I put the "helping" in inverted commas because I think the main help I gave was encouragement - ie making sure he got it done.  A kick up the arse now and then.  I was quite good at that.

I thought I commented on this... I heard this a bunch of times... to me this is a fantastic song and production... the guitars are absolutely fantastic.. such pro playing and sound.

the singing is beyond great... it is hard to make any sense out of singing at such a great level.. it is so rare... kind of like a hidden gem that is worth millions and millions of euros but is hidden underground and is well guarded by only a handful of believers that want to prevent the intrusion of the masses on such an icon they hold dear.  Knowing that if their secret gets out they will never behold this again!
