Great singing from John. He had a notion to swap the verse and chorus parts, and then the basic structure fell together pretty quickly. I stayed up way too late to add the floaty bits and the tag. Not sure what to do with the drums as I kind of like how they plod along with just the odd pause or fill. Thoughts?

Peace.

Interesting what can be done with a few odd words, a guitar, troubled minds, etc. No booze on this endeavor.

No one wants to hear from me
A loner shrouded in misery
Spend my nights on graveyard shifts
Where nobody cares if you're tight lipped
It's not like I have much to say
Once devout but gone astray
Faith once lost remains a lens
Through which we view the coming end

Head filled with lethargy
Feet made of clay
A soulless effigy
Who's thrown life away

No hidden scandals left behind
Just broken oaths and troubled minds
Unrequited lusts let die
Unpaid debts, lost bets and lies
Now I've nothing left to lose
Except this life I've long abused
Nothing left but time to spend
Not enough to make amends

Head filled with lethargy
Feet made of clay
A soulless effigy
Who's thrown life away

No one wants to hear from me
A loner shrouded in misery

Head filled with lethargy
Feet made of clay
A soulless effigy
Who's thrown life away

Holy sheeet boys...this is incredible...what a vocal...what a progression...what a spooky vibe....absolutely killer...I like the drums as they are ...adds to the spooky feeling...shit hot song...swapping the verse/chorus was a definite stroke of genius...works so well this way...it's damn near perfection

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Great sinister sounding track. Excellent production and performance. I agree with Dave - the drums sound fine as they are; I think if they were really busy with lots of fills etc. it would take something away from the song.

yeah don't touch the drums... they work to the max!
I want to hear from Lurker if he keeps writing like this.. wow... those lyrics are evocative... a major winner.

the vocals are off the charts good...

the music has many subtle and great details... this is a great listen all around... is it possible?  You two keep getting better?  Me thinks so and the bar was already really high...

also for a 4:41 song this got over really quick... that say enough in itself

I still don't really know what to say.

This is fabulous. The tension in the music perfectly mirrors the words

Stunning soundscapes

Fantastic production..

And then that remarkable vocal performance ...... wow ......

If I didn't know who this was I would have searched high and low to find it.  I might have thought that it was on an old LP that I'd forgot I had .....

I often ignore the lyrics, but here they grabbed me by my aging balls demanding my attention

Excellent work both of you

no booze required.... this is a trip all on its own....

psychadelic acid rock... killer work... so does John record his own vocals and add effects and then you mix that in Bruce?  I was wondering how your process works... this is really superb... I like the two times this fades out and then comes back in strong... really makes this an extra potent and dangerous track... listen only if you dare...

bril!

The way this plays makes me think of a slightly darker James Bond theme song. There's a hint of A-ha and a touch of Soundgarden.

Somewhat psychedelic vibe as seen thru the 90s lense.

Yeah, I like the dark mood and delivery of this one. Cool work!!
