This is a total redo of a song previously called "Made up my mind", with changed instrumentation, increased tempo, more natural singing, and added backing vocals (inspired by what StephenM does). I used my new Fender Acoustasonic Player Tele (open box discount score) for all the guitar parts, Fender Mustang Bass, and Black-Friday-Deal Steven Slate Drums (pure 60s preset). Mic is AT4040. Recorded with Tascam US-2x2HR to Reaper.

Never Stop Loving You - by des0free
Lyrics (and chords, capo on 3rd fret):

Verse 1
C                      G
We've been together for quite a long time
F                      G
Living in the present, thinking we were fine
C                G
I like cars, and you like wine
F                        G
Thought we'd be together for all time
    C                        G
But we've been having trouble for quite some time
...F              G              G---
As years pass by, we see the signs

Chorus 1 (play twice)
C                  G
What am I gonna do if I stop loving you
F              G                  Am                G
...I just don't know, I just don't know, I just don't know

Verse 2
C                                  G
Should we stay together, try to make it better
F              G
...Not throw it away...
C                          G
You can drive my cars, and I'll drink your wine,
F                      G    G---
...I think I made up my mind

Chorus 2 (play twice)
C                    G
What I'm gonna do is never stop loving you
F              G                  Am                G
...I made up my mind, I made up my mind, I made up my mind

Verse 3
C                      G
Looking back at life, I think we got it right
F              G
...Most of the time...
C                              G
You'll always be mine, Till the end of time
F              G  G---
...I'm a lucky guy...

Chorus (repeat and fade):
C                    G
What I'm gonna do is never stop loving you
F              G                  Am                G
...I made up my mind, I made up my mind, I made up my mind

So you really didn't make up your mind then? :D

This sounds like a great 60s influenced pop song. With expansive sound and hugely enjoyable vocals. The guitars are nice and the recording is clean and clear. Those backing vocal ideas work a treat.

What really makes this song work is the performer. This might work for the Troggs, but it wouldn't work for everybody.

Hearing a song like this is hard to imagine your wife giving you trouble buying more gear. I mean i could understand it better if you were into buying Ford Mustang(s), but musical gear... No.

Maybe if you made up your mind more often it could help?

Refreshing simplistic structure.  Pleasant 60s vibe.  I enjoyed it.

By and large, jazz has always been like the kind of a man you wouldn't want your daughter to associate with.

Great to hear this song again! I really dig the production hear, the vocals fit perfect in the mix and the chuggy guitars really add a great drive hear. An excellent song

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

DarrenG / The Devil's Toupee

A lovely, feel good song reminiscent of the late 60's songs. Great Melodie's, music and vocals. Really catchy chorus too.
I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

The intro defies what is about to transpire.
I think I'm heading toward a Fleetwood Mac ballad and then wham I hear that same sensational artist that struck me right between the eyes with "Why Oh Why"!
I am hooked yet again...this time standing in the airport lounge at Syracuse finding out my flight was delayed 5 hours. So two beers in this is especially delightful but also a real challenge to behave myself as I want to spin and twirl.. spin and twirl.  Gotta be the 8th listen and its great everytime..
I love SC!  Theres some fantastic music here..
Super recording and all your vocals are great!
