A bit of psych-pop to re-introduce myself  :)

Tanglewood acoustic, Squier thinline tele (my main guitar now), Ibanez bass, and Garageband drums & keys.

So... how low can you go?
Forgetting all you know
In the ebb and flow of the universe
The flowers flex and bloom
Woven on a loom
In asylum waiting rooms
And I'll be...

Higher than the curve of the earth
I'll bask in you for all that I'm worth on Sunbeam Drive

When I reach your door on Sunbeam Drive
When you open up your door on Sunbeam Drive

Gods... all composure lost
Throwing lightning rods
And we're left to count the cost
Of their capriciousness
Fly my pretties fly
In the sanctum of the sky
The big birdcage of life
And I'll be...

Higher than the curve of the earth
I'll bask in you for all that I'm worth on Sunbeam Drive

When I reach your door on Sunbeam Drive
When you open up your door on Sunbeam Drive

Residential cul-de-sacs like the raft of the medusa
Amulets for lotteries
Where everyone's a loser
TV dinners for the mannequins
Gameshows eat away your seconds
Getting sprinkled on your own front lawn
This way madness beckons

So... how low can you go?
Forgetting all you know
In the ebb and flow of the universe
The flowers flex and bloom
Woven on a loom
In asylum waiting rooms
And I'll be...

I also made a video. About 80% of it was made with RunwayML AI - a pioneering text to video tool. This could blow the world off it's axis for folks like us: being able to generate video by describing lyrics or what you saw in your head when you wrote them.

Very good to see a song post from you, and this is so very good. You certainly have your Beatles/XTC on today.

Lovely performances, playing, and production. I am digging the provocative lyrics as well. Loving that background vocal that bends up. Super effective.

Was expecting one more chorus after that pregnant pause ending.

Wonderful post. Downloaded.

Ahhhhh...there's that Greeny sound that we've been missing. All your influences are popping out in this song. Great vocals, words, music and video! The Squire Tele Thinline sounds excellent. Well done Tim!

Lovely tune, beautifully crafted. That is impressive work on the video too, kinda mind blowing where the technology is going. But yeah, top drawer stuff Tim, you have come back with all guns blazing. Excellent stuff!

Just incredibly good stuff - the lyrics with their imagery, a stand-out lead vocal with gorgeous backing harmonies, and a crisp blend of acoustic and electric guitars (the Tele Thinline sounds fab).

Loved it!

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

Lovely imagery and arranging in this beautiful song. I like the Beatles-esque vibe and similar in style to the works of Darren (The Devil's Toupe) also on this site. Great vocals and instrumentation. One question - are you using a limiter across your mix?
Ray Brookes

Ray Brookes

Forget my question about the limiter, Tim. I just realised it's actually my system that has thrown a wobbly. Everything all of a sudden sounded 'squashed' but I've done a reboot and all is good now.
