The adventures with 8-bit toy keyboards continue. This time Simple Mindless tackles on a the Dead Kennedys classic Let's Lynch the Landlord.

Casio SK-100
- jazz organ
- bass (which is a sample of my voice)
- outro voice (sample of my voice)

Yamaha VSS-30
- marimba
- voices (stacked samples of my voice)

This time i didn't use any outside help and instead played everything with TWO hands (!).

I got the Yamaha VSS-30 today. It was sent from Japan this monday and it arrived today.

so toy keyboards?  I am glad because  you certainly know which toys to use...

I love these ideas.  This is like the B52's and Doors had grandchildren that married, although none of them knew their parents so they didn't know they were offspring.

I think this song is actually happening in places, I think it was a prophesy.

I would love to take over a major radio station one day and play this list to all the listeners and jam everything so that the radio's cannot be turned off etc... I could only imagine the looks, the language, the pounding on dashboards, the pulling of hair... and we would all be laughing quietly in the back ground.

by the way I would give you a sample of my vocals but there are too many around already.. but I don't think you are talking about that sample type..
what is amazing here is how clear those vocals are... the whole thing...
this is like a really great cup of coffee... no sugar, no cream... just a really fine coffee...

mine is like campfire coffee, complete with mud at the bottom but too much moonshine so the drinker doesn't care.
really love this.
I do think it needs an epic guitar though... EVH or Kramer... take your pick

you can call me anything you like.  Just don't call me late for dinner

This is a cousin of my very favorite song from the 1980s ska-dub-new-wave-pop-post-Specials-fallout scene: Fun Boy Three - "The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum". Love it.

I've made an overture to someone to cover a different song by the DKs. I don't know if that's going to happen, but you've put fuel on that fire, and you've also set the bar weird.

spectacular result!
how do you make a voice sample that simulates bass?
le outro est chouette aussi
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

That's the magic of lo-fi sampling. Hit record and yell some obscenities into the mic (in this case i just hummed a low note) and PRESTO it's DONE!

Nothing sounds the same after it's been crushed to 8-bits. Toys are not (only) for children :)
