Two songs in one.  The first segues into the second.  I originally wrote and recorded this in 2016 but just remixed it recently.  Enjoy!

Peaceful thought runs through my spirit
My mind is so relieved by the summer air
And I know the sun will be shining
Making it easy to think of the happier times
Small part of a dream.  Not quite as it seemed
Running through the day

Amber leaves fall all around me
The slight chill in my nose of the Autumn air
bring to mind that winter's round the corner
Anticipating the warmth of your love with the snow
Small part of a dream.  Not quite as it seemed
Snowflakes all around

Try to push my anger aside
A day like this has no room for annoyance
Think of a better way to make the world a much better place
Stifle the heartache.  Shine a new light

Basically, I'm just a fool for the beauty of life and simplicity
Modern times seem to be against it
Opting instead for the frenzy and haste that we know
Not part of a dream.  Pressure, so it seems
Wasting all our life.

Try to keep hostility down
Make some sense of my dumb paranoia
Humble my hardened heart and learn to spread all my love around
Deal with these issues I can't understand

All that I know
All I feel. All I want. All I can say
brings me to be all I am. All you see. All I can be
There must be a way
Something more to give you solace
I'll write a song for peace
and hope more than a handful notice

You may not think
that there's a day.  There's an hour. Time that I spend
to tell you what is in my heart, but I'm a poet
No more.  No less.
Don't want you to think that I'm smarter than the gallery
Some are easy to offend
So I'll keep my views to myself only.  Thank you.

Very nice John.

Both songs are wonderful with cleverly constructed melodies. The second reminds me a bit of the Beatles (and you know that can't be bad in my book)

Well done.  Keep them coming

DarrenG / The Devil's Toupee

A hidden gem. Your songs are always well produced and performed.
I like the 2 tracks in one. Blended in nicely.
Another catchy song. And relaxing to listen to.
I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

The day has taken its toll on me. I came here just to get some of my energy back, but this really needs to be heard while wearing headphones. Preferably when walking outside.

I shall revisit this one :)

Lately my walks have been shared with either The Alan Parsons Project and/or JohnBee.

A wonderful piece of music that I've come to expect from you. Played and produced to the very highest standard.     Willie

When the song started off with just the slow piano I thought that sounded great but had no idea how it would take off when the bass and drums entered...well done there! Excellent lyrics, lead vocal, melodies and harmonies. I kept listening in anticipation for the transition into the second song. You have a lot of cool changes in this song so I thought I heard it about 3 times before the solid move to the second song at about 4 minutes. Very creative and seamless John!

Great medley - of songs that seem to be made for each other.  So imaginative, John.

Stellar melodies here, you have a very unique of singing over chords (and what beautiful sequences they are!). I really love the prog-pop vibe of this song too, I can hear elements of Klaatu especially in the second main section. I love this John!

Jarle

This has some really fine melodic lines. Like the backing vocals, reminds me slightly of Supertramp.
