Had a wee shot on my bro in-law's fender and this came quite quickly. However on listening to it, it sounds remarkably similar to a recent song of mine "what we're fighting for".

Anyway it is what it is.

Sometimes I don't say nothing
Sometimes I'll just be quiet
You know I'll just be thinking
Who knows what
Sometimes I'll just be lazy
Stay in my bed too long
Sometimes I just got to lay down
And rest my weary bones
rest my weary bones
I might just pick up my guitar
And try to find a song
Pluck and strum ad nauseam
Until something comes
Well maybe I'll get lucky
Find what I'm looking for
Not what I expected
Or been here once before
Rest my weary bones
Well you know that time is precious
Waste it at your peril
We're just here for a short time
So spend it well
Don't burn the candle
At both ends
Don't be a lazy sod
And never get anything done
Rest my weary bones
Rest My Weary Bones

Similar melody line, but with a different message - and it works!

Many times I think "I've damn well written this before!" and then I go and check and 9 times out of 10 it's not that similar. Anyhow, this is good and often the sponatneous ones are are! Nice one.

This sounds great. Love the lyrics and the music .

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

Maybe similar but it's a new song in it's own right... and a very good one. Lovely vibey goodness.

I was thinking I heard this before Jim.
It must be what you said in your comment
The vocal is crystal clear.
I like the vocals too.
It's defo got a similar chorus to what we're  fighting for though.
But a good track.
Excellanto.

Really enjoyed this one. Cool lyrics and great vocal delivery. Nice mix and choice of drum sound/pattern.  I think you should tell your brother in law you're keeping the Fender - you need it for inspiration - and you can buy him an inexpensive SX guitar for xmas (http://sx-guitar.com/index.php/Products/categories/pid/26)
