I've been playing this song (the riff at least) for literally decades. Now I've finally scratched my Passage to Bangkok itch. In my head, it's a rock standard, on the same list as Stairway and Smoke on the Water. Maybe a different part of the list, but the same list nonetheless.

Guitar is the new Squier Super-Sonic into GB using the Focusrite Scarlet interface, drums and bass GB. There's a keyboard pad during the guitar solo section which I had fun with.

Apologies for mentioning scratching my passage.

That is such a cool riff.. Love those harmony guitar lines..

From one of my favourite Rush albums.

Great . Cool vocals.

Sounds great Nick even though I don't know the original..Rush largely passed me by in my blinkered youth. Great tones again from that Super-Sonic ! We all get an itchy passage now and again so no need to apologise !

Bloody Marvellous.

I love me some Rush, and this is spot on for me.

I saw this a bit ago, butwas not in a setting to listen. What a wonderful blast from the past. Talk about formative years...

The thwacka-thwacka drum fill in the beginning of the second verse made my day.

Killer post.

Pete, I would imagine that you have heard some really great bands that I never listened to and many I never heard of.... so I remember that as I say this.... it probably would have changed you as a player if you listened to these guys alot... so, it probably is good you didn't... I would say your playing is very very good...and even awesome... but you play to me in the style of say the Kinks or Mott The Hoople and bands like that... really great bands but not at all prog or hard rock... kind of their own things...
but Rush was a great band...and really hard rock, edge of metal but more toward prog but not really that either... and a 3 piece, but pretty impossible to cover really... having said that this is a great rendition.

This is a rocking rendition man... the guitars sound great and your vocals certainly works a treat for me...

I really really appreciate this so much... I love that band and the 2112 to me was their very best recording, amongst alot of awesome albums... and I really loved their 80's stuff with keyboards too....

yes, it is bravery and I totally understand about playing at this for decades...lol... me too... I can sort of play some of the Rush rhythm guitars pretty good... but i could not play lead at all like Alex... he thinks so different...
but he does some great stuff that is electric and clean with effects and picks it with a flat pick and it is so good...

very cool tribute in my book.... I actually did a cover of this that is posted on SC... totally different than this one...

and the bass smokes
